Dress Code
Special Programs Center Dress Code
Special Programs Center students dress code, in coordination with the NISD dress code, must be followed as outlined below and in the NISD Student Handbook and Code of Conduct, which is posted on the campus website. Students are required to be in dress code every day, including the first day of placement.
Shirts (required)
- Provided by SPC
- Each student will receive 2
- Must be tucked into pants at all times
- Must be turned in to SPC on last day of placement
- Shirts not turned in will be charged to student’s account
- Undershirt (optional): solid, white, black, or gray (may be worn during PE classes)
Coats and Sweatshirts (optional)
- Coats and/or jackets are not permitted in classrooms. (Daily storage location provided)
- Sweatshirts (optional): black, white, or gray
- Sweatshirts must be free of pockets and hoods
- Logos must be smaller than 2x2 inches
- Must be provided by the student
Pants (required)
- Khaki pants
- Must be worn at the natural waist
- Must have finished hem
- No rips, holes, or tears
- No jeans, cargo, joggers, sweatpants or athletic shorts
- No leggings, jeggings, linen pants, or tights
Belts (required)
- Black or brown, plain
- Plain belt buckle Shoes (required)
- Black, brown, gray, or white
- Must be worn at all times
- Must have a closed heel and toe
- No house shoes/slippers
Socks (required)
- Black, brown, gray or white
- Logos must be smaller than 2x2 inches
Prohibited items (required):
- Jewelry
- Hats, head coverings, forehead coverings, caps, and bandanas
- Gloves, sunglasses, or distracting accessories
- Backpacks/bags/purses
- Cell phones
Non-permissible items brought to school will be confiscated. Special Programs Center is not responsible for non-permissible items brought to school. Confiscated items may be returned to parents at the end of the program placement.
Parents will be contacted when students are in violation of the rules, dress code, or policies of Special Programs Center. Parents may be required to pick up students. If parents cannot be contacted, students may be placed in ISS the remainder of the day (with possible loss of points) and possible suspension the following day.
